As part of the Public Service Commission’s (PSC) country-wide engagement with the Executive Coordinators and Governors in the country, the Chairman, Public Service Commission (PSC) last week called for innovation and hard-work within civil service.
Mr. Baboucarr Suwareh made this remarks during his institution’s meeting with the staff at Governor’s offices and regional Technical Advisory Committees (TAC) within Central and Upper River Regions.
Addressing civil servants in both regions, PSC chairman called on civil servants to be innovative, hard-work and introduce successful ideas that will add new value to their work so that they can deliver exceptional public service to the citizenry.
“We are out here to get first-hand information from you as heads of institutions in relation to your work, key among are: challenges and achievements and see how PSC and PMO can support you in solving those challenges. We want to see more innovation and strategies apply to solve some of your challenges within civil service, because we are the appointing authority for civil servants into civil service,” PSC Chair explained.
He enjoined civil servants in the CRR and URR and the country in general to be innovative in their work and as he rightly explained, Gambians need public servants that can give the government the image of integrity.
It is only when civil servants embrace innovation and strategies in their work PSC boss added, the country can make progress, adding that civil servants, need to have new ideas in their work so as to address realities that affect citizens with innovative ideas.
For their part, Governors for CRR and URR, Mr. Ousman Bah and Mr. Samba Bah assured PSC and PMO officials that their offices will maintain highest level of performance for the betterment of their regions and the country in general.
During the meeting, various heads of institutions within the two regions highlighted their institution’s challenges, achievements and way-forward before PSC and PMO teams.
