The Ministry of Public Service (MoPS)’s six (6) consultants of the Skills Gap Assessment project from Uganda and Kenya on Monday May 13, 2024 at Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara Conference Center presented their findings to the seven stakeholder institutions in a form of a day-long workshop during which stakeholders reviewed and shared their feedback on the consultants findings.

In his opening remarked, Permanent Secretary (PS) at the Personnel Management Office (PMO), Lamin Jawara informed stakeholders that the CERFORES Firm was hired to assess the skills gap within the civil service based on the scrutiny of their firm.
“We deep it necessary to conduct Core Government Functions Skills Gap Assessment so that our trainings be better guided thus to have an impact on our future trainings,” PS Jawara informed stakeholders.
PS Jawara described the exercise as an important one and he implored the stakeholders to go through the findings thoroughly in other to come out with a realistic report that will suit the need of the civil service.
In his power point presentation, the coordinator of the Core Government Functions Skills Gap Assessment project team, Mr. Ronald Okite from the CERFODES Firm said, during their visit to the institutions, his team was able to collect the required information from the relevant institutions.
“We are here to present our preliminary findings and the way forward to the stakeholder institutions we visited. We are grateful to the Acting Director, Human Resource Development Division (HRDD), Mr. Geoffrey M. Bala-Gaye and his staff at PMO under the Ministry of Public Service (MoPS) for guiding us through,” Mr. Okite explained.
